Pool of rain water near the pier forms a natural mirror. It's a chance luck in rainy season.
I found it couple years back when I caught glimpse of a quick burn between storms, this time it was more assured and intense.
An explosive sunrise over San Francisco bay, at it's peak it seemed like a fire ball floating overhead. I have not seen such intense color ever since.

Sky erupts in red and pink over the bay in an extraordinary fall sunrise. Its a long drive from my place to reach this location, where I tried and failed many times before. At the end, it was well worth trying again.

Near and Far
Rain soaked city wakes up to a sudden burst of color that faded as abruptly as it started.
Another sunrise by the bay. It looked promising until low clouds intruded and blocked the sun.
On a grey dawn like this, you could at least see the city moodily waking up from a good night's sleep :).
