Sky erupts in color over a city still asleep on a cold winter holiday morning.

Midsummer Night's Dream
Breath taking beauty of a summer night over Lake Tahoe.
It's a popular tourist destination and overly crowded in summer months. But late in the night when everyone has gone home, you could witness scenes like this.
I waited for years to get this shot. It required elements to come together and that proved so elusive. Nevertheless when finally stars aligned, it was breathtaking to see and capture the beauty of this place.
Shark Fin Cove, Davenport.
An explosive sunrise over San Francisco bay, at it's peak it seemed like a fire ball floating overhead. I have not seen such intense color ever since.

Trees get the best view.
This sunset came along after weeks of absolutely cloud less summer sky. A drifting cloud somehow lost its path and made it to California coast just in time for the sun-down.
A subtly vivid sunset through smoky sky on SF coast. Gale of wind and a restless sea made it difficult to get the shot, with gigantic waves pounding the rock I was perched on.
Lands End, San Francisco.
Guiding lights for the sailors - the stars and the lighthouse.
Flames of Rodeo
Its ironic that your heart skips a beat when you feel the most alive. This was one such morning, whose jaw dropping beauty still feels unreal.

Watching a snowstorm clear in Yosemite is an experience hard to describe in words. As the mist starts to clear revealing the massive granite formations surrounding the valley, the grandeur of the place suddenly becomes apparent.
Swirling Warmth (2)
High tide caused relentless swirls as a dreamy dawn breaks over Golden Gate Bridge. City and the bay comes to life with warmth of the rising sun.
Travelers cruising along the coastal route through the hills lit up by the stars and milky way.
Big Sur, California.
Remnant of an Inferno
A breezy dawn on arid California hills, moments after an inferno like sunrise. The cloud scattered in the wind gust and glowed like embers for quite a while.
Break in the Storm
I was happy to find these few late blooming sun-flowers, they made the fiery sunset look astonishing.
Gales of Color
Rain soaked city wakes up to a sudden burst of color that faded as abruptly as it started.
I drove hours chasing the right cloud setup for this sunset. It was fully overcast on arrival, but I setup tripod and waited patiently. Sure enough color started to appear around sunset and grew more intense with time. Then suddenly the cloud tore open near horizon letting in light that illuminated parts of the sky in brilliant red hue. Persistence paid off...
Taken on the same night as 'Inception', I found these nice foreground rocks while looking for different compositions.
Folds and Fire
An unique land formation that looks beautiful at day break.
As the first storm of winter clears, a luscious sunset glow embraces the frigid lake.
Bonsai Rock, Tahoe.
Front Row Seat
A lone oak on lush green California hill side in spring enjoying a gorgeous sunset.
