This sunset came along after weeks of absolutely cloud less summer sky. A drifting cloud somehow lost its path and made it to California coast just in time for the sun-down.

A subtly vivid sunset through smoky sky on SF coast. Gale of wind and a restless sea made it difficult to get the shot, with gigantic waves pounding the rock I was perched on.

Flames of Rodeo
This was a scorcher of a sunset. Raging ocean lashed out at the cove relentlessly and spilled onto the bluffs creating tide pools. The still water of tide pools show a beautiful reflection of the sky.
After a long spell of blue skies, finally a summer sunset that exploded in colors.
I drove hours for this sunset. It was overcast at first, but I setup tripod and waited. Sure enough color started to appear around sunset and grew more intense with time. Then all on a sudden the cloud tore open near horizon and the sky was on fire.
