Remnant of an Inferno
A breezy dawn on arid California hills, moments after an inferno like sunrise. The cloud scattered in the wind gust and glowed like embers for quite a while.
I drove hours chasing the right cloud setup for this sunset. It was fully overcast on arrival, but I setup tripod and waited patiently. Sure enough color started to appear around sunset and grew more intense with time. Then suddenly the cloud tore open near horizon letting in light that illuminated parts of the sky in brilliant red hue. Persistence paid off...
This was a scorcher of a sunset. Tide was high and waves lashed out at the rocky cove tirelessly and spilled onto the bluffs creating tide pools. It helped me capture the beautiful reflection of the burning sky.
As the first storm of winter clears, a luscious sunset glow embraces the frigid lake.
Bonsai Rock, Tahoe.
Thirsty rolling hills after an unusually dry winter in California.
